Waitrose Cookery School
I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon at the Waitrose Cookery School last month. The school we went to was located inside the King's Cross Waitrose Branch.
We learnt how to make Vegetable Curry from scratch.
The whole class was impeccably run and it was very enjoyable, with an amazing meal at the end of it!
When we first arrived, we were greeted by drinks on the house- coffee, tea, water, juice, and most importantly... Prosecco!
We were given Health Questionnaires to fill out, hygiene and all that, and then we chose our cooking stations.
The small class of around 20 people then gathered around the main cooking station at the front of the kitchen to watch our cooking tutor make the Garam masala curry paste from scratch for our vegetable curry. She also demonstrated some professional knife skills which we then put into action back at our cooking stations.
All the ingredients were then cooked as our tutor had shown us in another whole class 'lesson' at the main station.
By this point the kitchen smelt AMAZING.
We then had the final whole class lesson where she finished off the curry and then showed us how to make flat breads to compliment the curry.
Et voila!
Vegetable Curry anyone?
