Fuerteventura 2018 Day 7

Fuerteventura 2018

Day 7

Our final day started as normal with a slow-paced breakfast out on the terrace. We decided that today we would mix things up a bit and walk down to the beach first rather than go to the pool.

After a few hours of sunbathing on the beach (our last chance!), we walked just up the beach to Toro Beach for some lunch. It was a Deja Vu moment as it was the exact same restaurant, table and time as the day we arrived on the island! We ordered cocktails and a couple of tapas dishes- Alex had a Vodka Sun and I had a Tequila Sunrise. We shared mussels in white wine and garlic sauce, chorizo and a bowl of fries.

After lunch we wandered back to the apartment and dropped off our beach stuff before going down to the pool to play catch with our beach ball and chill on the lilo/sunbeds.

When the sun started to lose heat and the wind picked up, we thought it would be the perfect time to go down to the shops and do some more souvenir shopping.

We came across a lovely soap shop a few days previous on a walk to dinner so we popped in to have a sniff of some of the soaps, I couldn't resist! I ended up smelling virtually every single soap scent and walked out after a good half hour with 2 soap bars (Aloe Vera and Lavender) and an Aloe Vera hand cream. The Canary Islands are known for their Aloe Vera so I took the opportunity to take home some local products!

After the shopping, we dropped the things we bought back at the apartment, had showers and got ready for dinner.

Of course we wanted the last meal to be memorable and good so went back to La Marquesina for the third time as it was our favourite dinner spot.

The paella we got on the first time we went was so good that we ordered it again without hesitation!

The same guitarist who was there the last time was performing again, right outside the restaurant, and we were given a table right by the walkway in front of him so it almost felt like we had a private performance!

Shock... Reef bar was our final destination of the evening! We cheers'd to the holiday over two VERY strong cocktails. I can't actually remember what they were but mine had about a litre of Tequila in it and boy I felt it...

All in all, it was the perfect evening to end our holiday.

We 'staggered' back to the apartment, for the final time, along the beach.
